The International Emirates’ Oral History Conference (IEOHC)
The National Library and Archives holds the International Emirates’ Oral History conference under the theme: “Their Memory Our History: Oral History Documenting and Sustaining Elements of Identity and Heritage” on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Many Arab and foreign institutions and bodies participate in this conference to establish the solid foundations of effective cooperation, provide fruitful communication modes for exchanging various experiences, and learn about the latest methods, practices and literature related to oral history and its documentation in a sound scientific way. Moreover, the conference aims at disseminating and publishing oral history in such a manner that researchers and historians take advantage of, as recording oral history is not less important than written history; the memory of oral history’s elderly narrators stores many events, situations and stories which are good history sources that historians might have missed to unravel!
