
The NLA Fourth International Translation Conference
In the aftermath of the overwhelming success of the two international translation conferences held by the National Library and Archives in 2021, 2022, and 2023, the NLA is organizing its Fourth International Translation Conference under the title: (Publishing New Boundaries: Translation and Building Knowledge Societies). The conference constitutes a multilingual scientific and academic forum, which hosts worldwide elite researchers in various fields of translation studies

The Publishing Industry Challenges and opportunities
The National Library and Archives continues its efforts to carry out its mission and achieve its cultural and societal goals through an event which shall be held on November 15, 2023 and will host a group of the UAE publishing and book industry sector’s concerned specialists, officials, and decision makers to review and discuss the sector’s encountered challenges, and present their innovative proposals for potential tools, and corrective actions to overcome them, and to suggest favourable new opportunities that include both paper and digital publications, along with digital transformation to maintain this sector’s sustainability.

The NLA Third International Translation Conference
The NLA organizes this year the Third International Translation Conference under the title: (Artificial Intelligence, Translation and the Enrichment of Public Libraries). The conference constitutes a multilingual scientific and academic forum, which hosts worldwide elite researchers in various fields of translation studies. The NLA conference events include professors from major universities in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa, in addition to professors from local and regional universities and research centers.

Translation between Theory and Practice
The National Library and Archives is pleased to organize a free introductory course in translation entitled (Translation between Theory and Practice)
The duration of the course is 20 training hours and will be held from 19 to 22 December 2022.
- The training workshops and lectures will be delivered in Liwa Hall in the National Library and Archives building in Abu Dhabi.
- The course activities will last for four consecutive days, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- The training workshops and lectures will be presented by Professor Saddik Gohar, the translation expert in the National Library and Archives.
- Employees in all government and private sectors, researchers and university students are eligible to apply for the course (the number is limited).
- Applicants who are interested in the course shall send their contact information through the link below within a period not exceeding December 12, 2022.
- Approvals will be sent to the nominated applicants no later than December 14, 2022.
- NLA recognized achievement certificates will be granted at the end of the course to all participants.
